Bad Romeo / Broken Juilet by Leisa Rayven

Bad Romeo / Broken Juilet
By Leisa Rayven

Author's Description for Bad Romeo:  Cassie Taylor was just another acting student with big dreams at her prestigious performing arts college, then she met Ethan Holt. She was the good girl actress. He was the bad boy on campus. But one fated casting choice for Romeo and Juliet changed it all. Like the characters they were playing on stage, Cassie and Ethan's epic romance seemed destined. Until it ended in tragedy when he shattered her heart.

Now they've made it to Broadway where they're reunited as romantic leads once again, and their passionate scenes force them to confront the heartbreaking lows and pulse-pounding highs of their intense college affair. For Ethan, losing Cassie was his biggest regret, and he's determined to redeem himself. But for Cassie, even though Ethan was her first and only great love, he hurt her too much to ever be trusted again. The trouble is, working with him reminds her that people who rub each other the wrong way often make the best sparks. And when it comes to love, sometimes it's the things that aren't good for us that are the most irresistible.

Sandy's Review:  Bad Romeo is the beginning of the story.  You meet Ethan Holt and he is hot as fire!  But he keeps Cassie at arms length and it is so deliciously frustrating you have a hard time handling it.  The phrase 'your mood swings are giving me whiplash' sincerely applies to Ethan.

Cassie is hopelessly in love with him, and she doesn't understand, and isn't prepared for his wide range of emotion and jealously.  All Cassie knows is that she loves him.

Leisa Rayven keeps you on the edge never knowing what will happen, never expecting what Ethan will do next.  His love for her drives him to the point of madness.  You can't expect what he does next.

If you haven't read Bad Romeo, now is the time - Because the next book is right around the corner.

Just when your heart is so confused all it wants is MORE, Leisa is about to release her next book, Broken Juilet.  Let's read her description:

Author's Description for Broken Juilet:  Some loves never let you go…

Cassie swore she'd never forgive Ethan for breaking her heart when they were in acting school years ago. He was her one great love, and when he refused to love her back, a part of her died forever…or so she thought. Now she and Ethan are sharing a Broadway stage, and he's determined to win her back. Finally he's able to say all the things she needed to hear years ago…but can she believe him? Has he really changed, and what makes this time different from all his other broken promises?

The answer lies somewhere in the past, and now the truth will come to light. Will Cassie rediscover what it's like to be trusting and open again--the way she was before Ethan? Or is it too late for these star-crossed lovers?

Don't miss this mesmerizing final chapter in the Bad Romeo duet, the unforgettable love story that captured the hearts of over two million fans online.

Sandy's Review:  Ethan is older, wiser, maybe he's a little more aware of where he went wrong; but does he have the strength to make it up to Cassie?  I think the question might be, will Cassie even give him a chance?

Broken Juilet is the rest of the story.  Leisa Rayven keeps you guessing in the second book, and just when you aren't sure what will happen, she throws you another curve ball.  Both these books are emotionally wrenching and they make you not want to put them down.  You want them to end up together, but you can't be mature enough to want what's really best for them.  I honestly didn't know until the very last chapter what would happen and the suspense is decadent.

Ethan Holt could be the world's most perfect man - at least for Cassie (and me).  Can Ethan get over himself and allow them both to have a happily ever after?  You will only find out when you read Broken Juilet.

Broken Juilet hasn't been released yet.  The release date is April 28th.  You can pre-order it here:  Broken Juilet

I can promise you that you will enjoy these books from start to finish.  Liesa Raven is superior and knows how to keep you on the edge of your seat.  I know you will enjoy Bad Romeo / Broken Juilet.

Have you read these stories?  Do you want to?  Please leave me a comment, it means the world to me!!

Absolute Beginners by S.J. Hooks

Absolute Beginners
S.J. Hooks

With the recent controversy of 'pulled to publish' stories, I thought I might give this blog a little twist.  When an author also writes a book, I think I'll review the book as well.  Crossing the Lines by SheViking is also written by the author of Absolute Beginners, S.J. Hooks.  S.J. Hooks is SheViking.  Absolute Beginners started out as a Fan Fiction called - The Education of Professor Cullen.  I read this Fan Fiction years ago, and when I first started reading Absolute Beginners I thought it would be the same story - I was wrong.  Let's see what the description is for Absolute Beginners by the author shall we?

Authors Original Description:  Professor Stephen Worthington’s life makes perfect sense.
He teaches classes on Tuesdays and Fridays. He has dinners with his parents on the weekend. He goes to the gym with his comically crass stepbrother, Matt, a few days each week. And every night, he heads home at a reasonable hour, alone.

There’s only one thorn in Stephen’s perfectly organized side: Ms. Julia Wilde. Never has Stephen dealt with a more unruly student. She’s rude, provocative, infuriating—and she dresses in a way that is completely unbecoming for a lady. Stephen can’t wait for the semester to be over, and then he’ll never have to see her again.

That is, until Stephen finds himself out of the classroom and in Julia’s bed. Suddenly, the student/teacher roles are reversed, and the professor receives a much-needed lesson between the sheets. Stephen thought his life made sense, but after his tryst with Julia, he finds himself changed in more ways than one. Maybe he’s coming down with something.

Or maybe, something a little out of the ordinary is exactly what this stuffy professor needs.

Sandy's Review:  I enjoyed this story very much!!  Even with the possibility of it being a fan fiction, I didn't feel like I had read the story before.  S.J. Hooks and I are friends on Facebook and so I wanted to do a little interview with her.

I asked S.J. Hooks:  Did you pattern Professor Worthington after anyone you know in real life?  Because if she did, I want to meet him!

S.J. Hooks:  Not exactly. I have studied literature at the university so I am very familiar with these academic types. Although none of them were ever as cute as Stephen.

I asked:  Do you have a degree in English Lit?

S.J. Hooks:  Yes, I have a degree in English from the University of Southern Denmark

I asked:  I really wonder about these people who pull their stories to publish them.  Were you inspired by E.L. James?

S.J. Hooks:   I'm not sure I ever would have been brave enough to attempt publishing, if I hadn't been contacted by my editor. I've always written for myself because I love it and I never really considered it might end up as a career opportunity. I've been really fortunate that my editor read my fan fiction and saw potential in it.

Me:  Wait, your editor contacted you???

S.J. Hooks:  Yes - reached out to me on Facebook.

Me:  WHO IS YOUR EDITOR - I am sure many of my readers may be interested in publishing in the future.

S.J.  Hooks:  Her name is Samantha Streger and she's with Full Fathom Five Digital

So, as you can see from just taking a minute to talk to S.J. Hooks, if you are an inspiring author, there are people out there looking for you!

Absolute Beginners is a delightful story about finding out who you are and what you might be missing in life by holding yourself back.  I thoroughly enjoyed the story and I'm waiting with baited breath on the next book.  Yes this is going to be at least a 2 parter.  Her next book will be out in June.

I give Absolute Beginners 5 stars!  I think you will enjoy it as much as I did.

Crossing the Lines by SheViking

Author's Description:  Desperate times call for desperate measures. Bella is starving for a better life for her and her son, and taking her clothes off in front of a stranger is just the first of many lines she'll cross.
Twilight - Rated: M - English - Drama/Hurt/Comfort

Sandy's Review:  It's been a long time since I enjoyed a fanfiction as much as I enjoyed this one.  Enough to pull Southern FanFiction Review out of the Depths of Death.

When I went through my divorce, I lost the URL for SFFR.  Up until know, it has been unavailable for me to own.  Until I get a little money, you will find it through blogger, and then I will buy it and never lose it again.

So let me tell you about this story!! Crossing the Lines is all about a
single mother who is at the end of her rope.  She has only one friend
and her friend is almost as penniless as she is.  She doesn't know
what to do or where her next meal is coming from.  Finally one night
she decides she is going to do it - go down to the local strip club and
get a job.  What she wasn't expecting was to be TURNED DOWN by them.  She was told she was too skinny.

Desperate and walking home a car pulls up next to her and asks "How much?"  She has never considered selling her body.  She has never been this desperate.  She walks to the car...

Will she?  Or won't she?  That is the question.  The only thing I can tell you is that Edward is her savior in this story.  It is a story about taking chances and living with the consequences of those actions.

The Edward in this story is strong and Dominant, but this story is not about a BDSM relationship.  It's about being who you are and living with what comes with that.

Crossing the Lines is one that will keep you on the edge of your seat waiting to see what she does and what his reaction will be.  If it were a book, I would consider it a PAGE-TURNER!!!

In the world of Fanfiction, we come across people who are so talented, you can't believe you can read their stories for free!  SheViking is one of those authors.  She is a master storyteller who knows how to keep you breathless for the next chapter.

Crossing the Lines is not finished yet - but I know she doesn't want to leave her readers hanging, and there are 22 chapters posted so you won't be begging for an update anytime soon.  If you are looking for a really HOT read, trust me on this one!!!  Read Crossing the Lines by SheViking today!!!
